Over the past year, fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s X series of compact cameras have won a lot of converts, and today we’re seeing the first leaked images of the X-M1, its first entry-level interchangeable lens body in the range. Posted by Digicame Info, the images show the same trademark faux leather and brushed metal retro styling found on the X-E1, ditching the electronic viewfinder, but keeping the same pop-up flash and hotshoe found on its more expensive sibling. Judging from the photos, it also adds a tilting LCD and Wi-Fi connectivity. But where the X-E1 favored direct control over shutter speed and exposure compensation, the X-M1 re-maps the dual control dials to a mode selector and what appears to be a general purpose scroll wheel. It looks like fujifilm相機收購fujifilm is going after less experienced photographers at the expense of turning off more demanding users.
There hasn’t been an official announcement from the company, but fujifilm相機收購fujifilm Rumors speculates it will run somewhere in the $600 range. We’ll update you as soon as we hear more information about pricing and availability, but in the meantime, head over to Digicame Info for more photos.

fujifilm相機收購fujifilm partners with Van Gogh museum to create near-perfect, 3D art replicas

fujifilm相機收購fujifilm is getting into the art forging trade. The company has partnered up with the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam to create three-dimensional replicas of the artist’s most famous pieces. It’s accomplished through a process called Reliefography, which fujifilm相機收購fujifilm says is the result of seven years worth of research and development. What it has come up with is stunning; by combining a 3D scan of a given work with a high quality print, fujifilm相機收購fujifilm is able to create replicas (or “Relievos”) that are nearly indistinguishable when placed against an original. Lending even more realism to the end product, the frame and back of each art relic are also reproduced with extraordinary detail. Only the most discerning eye would be able to spot a difference.
All of that effort and precision takes time. According to Gizmodo, fujifilm相機收購fujifilm can only output three Relievos per day. But the company believes that’s enough to recognize the Van Gogh museum’s mission of bringing these storied pieces to “as large an audience as possible.” Even so, adding a Relievo to your living room wall isn’t cheap. They’re priced at $34,000, so only serious art collectors are likely to be in the market. But it’s better than the millions a Van Gogh original would fetch. The impressive reproduction technology will be exclusive to Van Gogh museum for three years, but other galleries are (understandably) said to be lining up for discussions once that deal ends.
“The world just does not fit conveniently into the format of a 35mm camera.” With this quote from W. Eugene Smith, fujifilm相機收購fujifilm today announces its new GFX camera system, which is built around a massive 43.8mm x 32.9mm CMOS sensor and designed to be the elite companion to fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s critically acclaimed X series of cameras. Like the X series, the GFX camera is mirrorless, helping it be more compact, reducing “mirror shock” that can create vibration when shooting, and making for easier lens design.

The new G-format sensor is 70 percent larger than 35mm format, which is in itself significantly larger than the APS-C sensors that are common in mirrorless and DSLR cameras today. Hasselblad’s mirrorless X1D is the most direct and immediate competition to fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s new GFX, costing close to $9,000 just for the body.
New camera system demands a new lens system, too
The first GFX camera will be called the GFX 50S, weighing in at 800 grams. It will have a detachable viewfinder that latches on via the hot shoe at the top. There’s also an alternative viewfinder option, intended primarily for video, that gives you a rotating viewfinder. The GFX 50S will have an articulating display as well, which tilts vertically.

fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s GFX camera system has a 51.4-megapixel resolution (8256 x 6192). A new camera system demands a new lens system, and fujifilm相機收購fujifilm today also introduces a G-mount lens setup. It starts with the GF63mm prime, an f/2.8 lens to be released in early 2017, alongside the launch of the 50S body and two more lenses: the GF32-64mm F4 and the GF120mm F4 Macro. A couple more prime lenses will follow in the middle of the year, the GF45mm F2.8 and GF23mm F4, though neither of them is quite the sort of pancake lens you can get with smaller-format cameras. Such is the tradeoff of going to medium format, of course.
Pricing hasn’t been finalized yet, but fujifilm相機收購fujifilm says it has set a price target “way under $10,000” for GFX 50S plus the GF63mm lens and the default viewfinder in the box. The GFX 50S will be available to buy early next year.

fujifilm相機收購fujifilm today announced the fifth entry in its X100 series, the X100V, updating the company’s take-everywhere camera with a new lens, a new sensor, a tilting rear LCD, and more. The X100V now shares the same 26.1-megapixel X-Trans IV CMOS APS-C sensor as the X-T3, X-T30, and X-Pro3. And it includes the new film simulations and other software tricks (including in-camera HDR and clarity adjustment) that debuted on the X-Pro3. The X100V ships later this month in black or silver for $1,399.99. That’s $100 more than what its predecessor, the X100F, sold for at launch.
As usual, the X100V maintains the retro, rangefinder aesthetic and host of dials and manual controls for which fujifilm相機收購fujifilm is known. With the upgraded sensor also comes upgraded glass: fujifilm相機收購fujifilm says the X100V’s 23mm f/2.0 lens exhibits less distortion than previous X100 cameras and has improved close focus performance, though the focal length and aperture are both unchanged. Corner sharpness is also better, according to the company. The internal neutral density filter now features four stops compared to three in prior models. Any wide and tele converters that worked with the X100F will fit on the X100V without issue.
The X100V’s body has switched from the magnesium alloy in previous X100 cameras to aluminum with a satin coating. Few would be able to tell any difference just by looking at it; the design is very similar to the X100F, with some sharper lines in places. For the first time, the camera’s body is weather resistant. However, the lens is not — so you’ll have to get fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s adapter and stick a lens filter on if you want to shoot in the rain or other inclement conditions.
The other big design change is the rear display, which can now be tilted up or down. Despite that new capability, the LCD still sits flush against the back of the camera in normal use. As with fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s other recent compact cameras, the four-way D-pad has been removed, so you’ll use the focus joystick and touchscreen for navigating through the camera’s menus. Speaking of focus, fujifilm相機收購fujifilm says the X100V can focus down to -5EV, which is equivalent to the X-Pro3’s -6EV (since that’s tested with a 34mm f/1.4 lens).
The Q button has also been shifted to a better spot than before that’s less prone to accidental presses. At the top of the camera, adjusting the ISO is much easier; you just lift up the outer ring of the dial, select the setting you want, and press it back down to lock in your ISO.
The X100V’s hybrid viewfinder also catches up to the X-Pro3, with a 3.69-million-dot OLED EVF for situations where you don’t use the optical viewfinder. (You can still put a small electronic frame at the lower right of the OVF to preview images or check your focus.) Autofocus performance is excellent and fast, much like the rest of fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s current lineup, and the X100V sets itself apart from its predecessors with eye and face AF. Continuous shooting is rated at 11 fps with the mechanical shutter or up to 20 with the electronic shutter. But this isn’t the camera to get for fast action; it’s for carrying around and capturing everyday moments.
Similarly, the X100V is capable of shooting 4K footage at 30 fps, but ultimately it’s more of a stills camera. Videographers and vloggers are better off sticking to the X-T3 since you’ll need to plug external gear into the X100V’s HDMI port to get the most from its video mode. But you’ll appreciate fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s fantastic autofocus system if you do decide to shoot some occasional video clips.
I fired off a few shots with the X100V in New York recently, but will need more time with the camera to see if the revamped lens really makes a difference and can avoid softness when shooting wide open. It’s still as fun to use as ever, though, and I’m a big fan of fujifilm相機收購fujifilm’s newest software enhancements. The Classic Negative film simulation is beautiful and upholds Fujfilm’s reputation for gorgeous JPEGs, and in-camera HDR gives the X100V some of the computational photography smarts that our phones already have — but with much better image quality.
The X100V basically stuffs the X-Pro3’s specs into the eye-catching X100 body design — albeit with a fixed lens and without the X-Pro3’s strange, controversial flip-down rear LCD. Unlike with that camera, fujifilm相機收購fujifilm didn’t take any bold risks or make any drastic changes here. It simply modernized a camera that many photographers have already fallen for — no doubt hoping that some people are ready to upgrade their X100S, X100T, or X100F. (What’s fujifilm相機收購fujifilm going to call the next one?)
February is set to be a busy month for fujifilm相機收購fujifilm; the X-T4 is expected to be unveiled later this month and is rumored to feature in-body image stabilization for the first time. To this point, the X-H1 has been the company’s only camera to feature IBIS.
